Walkway Project — Ian Dinsmor

The Problem

As stated before, I am not handy. So, when I needed to overhaul an area next to our house, I quickly enlisted Claude to help.

My prompt to Claude to kick off this project

The Approach

Along with my prompt, I included pictures of the area in its current state. Claude added extra context based on those images, by informing me about soil grading because of the downspout location, and to be considerate of the edge of the neighbor's lawn against the fence line.

Claude produced a shopping list for me based on my measurements.

The Outcome

Along with informing me that I would need to grade the dirt away from the foundation, Claude also reminded me to lay weed barrier to prevent growth, and to install wire mesh along the foundation to deter pests.

After completing the job, my neighbor came out and approved, and said it was a vast improvement.
