DIY Battery Wall Project

As my collection of batteries for my yard work tools grew, so did the clutter and disorganization around trying to store and charge them. I am not the most skilled when it comes to DIY home projects, so I used the prompt below to get some help from Claude to get underway.

Year 2026
Type Home Project
Tools Used Claude, 3D Printer. Power Tools, Hardware
[Describe this image]

I tried to give Claude a detailed prompt to get started with.

The Problem

Six batteries, two chargers, and several different shelves used to store them. Sometimes inside, sometimes in the garage. I needed a central place to keep, store and charge the batteries I used for powering my yard work tools.

I inventoried and measured all the things I wanted on the wall and included it with my prompt.

The Approach

[Describe this image]

I sketched out a rough idea and included it with my prompt.

[Describe this image]

This was the layout that Claude returned after considering my prompt.

The Outcome

The finished product changed a little due to available plywood sizes, but everything still fit and I laid it out as suggested.
